Since January 2003, all pool owners are obliged to secure their pools. In the event of non-compliance with the obligations relating to pool safety, owners can be fined up to €45,000. Four devices are at their disposal: protective fence, immersion alarm, perimeter alarm or security cover. Whatever your choice, all this equipment must comply with the NF P90-306 standard.

SAFETY FENCE

The aim of this system is to make it impossible for children to access the pool without an adult and thus avoid accidents.

Easy to install and inexpensive, these railings are available in different materials (iron, wood, glass) and finishes. Permanently installed, the swimming pool fence is undoubtedly the safest protection device. It is the material most used in collective swimming pools (motels, campsites).

SURFACE WAVE DETECTION POOL ALARM

This device has the advantage of being discreet and affordable. The immersion alarm consists of a box fixed on the edge of the pool and a probe placed under the surface of the water that analyzes the water waves (Maytronics’ Précisio model). The alarm only reacts to “unusual” movements, such as a fall. Disadvantages of this device: the alarm does not sound until after the incident.

The alarm is very sensitive and can also be triggered in inappropriate ways, for example in strong winds.

PERIMETER ALARM

This device works thanks to infrared sensors installed at each end of the pool. These sensors form a kind of invisible protective barrier around the pool. The alarm is triggered as soon as someone crosses the perimeter.

TARPAULINS

There are several types of tarpaulins: the bubble tarp (also called summer tarp), the solar tarp, the safety tarp, the winter tarp.

Very easy to install, the bubble tarp is placed on the surface of the water and keeps the water at the right temperature during sunny days.

The safety tarp is an indispensable solution if you have children. It is put in place as soon as the swimming is over, thus ensuring safety around the pool and avoiding dangerous falls or even drowning. A safety cover must be able to support a weight of 100 kg/m2.

The winter cover is installed at the end of the season, when the swimming season is over. The winter cover is fixed with tensioners and provides optimum protection for your pool.

The rod cover is considered a “four season” cover. Easy to handle, it allows you to maintain a good water temperature in the summer and to protect your pond from bad weather in the winter ?
